Welcome to the Karratha BMX Club
We pride ourselves in the diversity of our sport, riders range from the age of 2 year old to 56+ year old members and this series looks to be our biggest intake to date. Our club caters to all fitness levels and abilities. Although it is a form of racing, we put emphasise on riders improving their own personal best lap times. We have dedicated coaches who volunteer their time to conduct training sessions during the week and on weekends. Coaches also ride on race day and assist all ages during the meet.
The club also runs several events and programs during the year. These events are specifically designed to promote the sport of BMX and encourage participation.
Events include:
-
Club 'Come Try Days' - usually held in March.
-
Club open days – For riders to access the track with coaches, BBQ, fun challenges,
-
Community displays – FeNaCLNG display, City of Karratha Community Sports days,
-
North West Super Series – championships hosted by the North West clubs, Tom Price, Newman, Port Hedland and Karratha. An annual event, held over two days, attracting over 200 riders from around the Pilbara.
Some of WA’s top riders commenced their BMX careers with the Karratha BMX Club. Currently from the 2024 Season, Karratha BMX have 8 Western Australian plate holders with 1 of these riders holding dual class WA plates. We also currently have 3 Australia PLate holders, with 1 of those riders holding dual class A plates and the other in the 45-49 mens category.
Karratha has a 5-meter world standard start gate and our track has been designed to provide challenge and progression to support the development of all riders from mini wheelers to the elite level.

Paul Adams KBMX Elite Coaching Week of 31/08/2026
Karratha Bmx Club
30-08-2026 3:00 PM – 03-09-2026 1:00 PM
Karratha BMX Club is excited to introduce something new for our riders — a specialised Elite Coaching Week running alongside our upcoming NWSS Round.
We’re proud to welcome experienced BMX coach Paul to the club for a week of structured rider development, offering both exclusive 1:1 coaching sessions and small group coaching opportunities for current KBMX members.
This week is designed to support riders of all levels who are looking to improve confidence, build race skills and gain valuable feedback heading into the last round of the NWSS — particularly those working towards State and National competition goals for next year.
Paul will also be actively involved around the track throughout the week, supporting riders getting ready for our NWSS Round being held in Karratha, and engaging with rider and families and helping build a strong development culture within our club. Feel free to have a chat with Paul as you see him around the track!

⭐ Why This Is Special
This is the first time KBMX has offered structured 1:1 coaching opportunities for members, for a WHOLE WEEK!! It’s a unique chance for riders to receive personalised feedback, skill development and mentoring from an experienced coach — something rarely available in regional clubs.
We’re excited to trial this initiative as part of growing rider development opportunities and giving back to the future of the sport.
⚠️ Important
Session Bookings & Rider Age Groups
Please ensure riders are booked into the correct age group and their allocated group session.
Riders who are booked into one age group session but arrive at a different session may be asked to leave. This is not about being difficult — it is about keeping every rider safe.
Our group numbers are capped to ensure coaches can safely manage the session and give riders the attention they need. Placing a rider into a session they are not booked into can create safety concerns for both that rider and the other riders in the group.
If you need to change your rider’s session time, or your rider is unable to attend their allocated session for any reason, please contact the club directly. We will always do our best to accommodate requests where possible, subject to availability and group numbers.
Please do not ask the coach to change bookings at the session. Our coaches are there to coach and support the riders, and we want them to be able to spend as much time as possible focused on the riders during the short time we have them.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep our sessions safe, fair and enjoyable for everyone.
