Welcome to the Karratha BMX Club

We pride ourselves in the diversity of our sport, riders range from the age of 2 year old to 56+ year old members and this series looks to be our biggest intake to date.  Our club caters to all fitness levels and abilities.  Although it is a form of racing, we put emphasise on riders improving their own personal best lap times.  We have dedicated coaches who volunteer their time to conduct training sessions during the week and on weekends.  Coaches also ride on race day and assist all ages during the meet.

The club also runs several events and programs during the year.  These events are specifically designed to promote the sport of BMX and encourage participation.

Events include:

  • Club 'Come Try Days' - usually held in March.

  • Club open days – For riders to access the track with coaches, BBQ, fun challenges,

  • Community displays – FeNaCLNG display, City of Karratha Community Sports days,

  • North West Super Series – championships hosted by the North West clubs, Tom Price, Newman, Port Hedland and Karratha. An annual event, held over two days, attracting over 200 riders from around the Pilbara.

Some of WA’s top riders commenced their BMX careers with the Karratha BMX Club.  Currently from the 2024 Season, Karratha BMX have 8 Western Australian plate holders with 1 of these riders holding dual class WA plates.  We also currently have 3 Australia PLate holders, with 1 of those riders holding dual class A plates and the other in the 45-49 mens category.

Karratha has a 5-meter world standard start gate and our track has been designed to provide challenge and progression to support the development of all riders from mini wheelers to the elite level.
